Bush has launched a taxpayer funded campaign, complete with a strategizing "war room," to push through his plan to privatize Social Security. Bush and his corporate advisors are falsely crying "crisis" to scare younger workers into accepting "reforms." What is really going on is a scheme to channel hundreds of billions of dollars to the big Wall Street banks and investment firms at our expense. Currently Bush is on a 60-day, 60-city tour to convince people around the country to support his plan to destroy this vital social program.
The Bush administration intends to slash virtually all remaining social services, including Social Security, to fund unlimited war and occupation in Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Haiti and more. They continue to spend more than $200 million a day on the war in Iraq, while targeting over 150 vital health, housing, education and jobs programs for complete elimination in this year's budget. The impact would be devastating for millions of people, and we must stop them in their tracks.

Still wondering, .... no not wondering, but very curious about elections here in the United States.
A friend writes and I answer:

I also read the report that in districts that used 'black box's' without paper trails ... votes did not match the exit polls, ... in other areas, that used paper ballots or machines that gave receipts, the votes matched the exit polls (in the same percentages of error) as in all previous recorded elections! ... and those numbers that jived with that historical perspectives ... ... ... showed a strong Kerry win!
That is a fact, like other truths that just won't go away, no matter how many dirty names are called, or threats to life are received, or people killed.

While I am ranting ... right now the public schools, in a number of states, are changing their textbooks to say ... 'marriage between a man and a woman' rather than 'married partners' ... ... ...
... do you know how much that is costing? ... the time consumption? ... the waste of paper? How many emergency rooms have closed? How many public services to critical care patients have been cut? How many before and after school programs hacked? ... and on and on ... ... ... ah .... we are fighting a war we are told ... we all need to sacrifice
.... wait, we no we are not being told that! It's 'howdy doody' time for some. Time for tax cuts for the rich! You know, a lot of people who make over 200,000 don't even pay taxes, or a very reduced share ... the more you make the less you actually pay! It doesn' matter that your tax rate is 65 per cent!
Some folks like who can hire a team of accountants? They got rentals ....they got deductions. They got business's more deductions ... cars ... yes, deductions, planes ... deductions, boats for those all important business trips .... DEDUCTIONS ... loss of the stock market, or equipment aging ... more deductions.
They have banks in other countries bowing to them. Somebody please tell me why the Bill Gates and Donald Trumps of the world need tax breaks during war time????
Another unprecidented idea.
My parents in WWII and grandparents in WWI knew about 'war time' sacrifice and EVERYBODY participated ... it was the American way.
Now with 100,000 plus folks being blown away at our hand and Mr. Criminal of the world make videos, ... while 1000s of our own children are being blown away with them ... on the other side of the world, and 100,000s being horribly maimed, and poisoned, on both sides, and on 'our' watch ... what are we doing at home?
... trying to legislate morality and finding offense at the word: partner???
What business is it of ours who marries who, as long as they keep their sex in the bedroom, pay their taxes, and obey our laws ... who made us Gods to tell others who, and how to love??? What business is it of ours who can be a part of a partnership?
How to live and be true to yourself??? That comes direct to a person's own heart, just like answers to prayers from a compassionate God, or at least it should, I believe.
Are we to set laws censoring God's own messages? We cannot legislate the information that is received in ones soul. For Christ's sake!
Do you really want legislation that studies, inspects, and enforces what consenting adults do in their private moments, or in their personal business arrangements, ... and even more laws to dictate who you can visit in a hospital, or who inherits?
These are not a public issues! ... and we are going to make laws requarding them ... and even plans to change the constitution!
Marriage is a public contract, which can be broken by divorce. It regards legal matters. It is represented by the proper papers. True marriage of souls is not governed ... can note be governed, by it's very nature. Love is graced by whatever God you believe in, ... that speaks to you inside your own being. Love is personal!!! Religion is personal.
What we do when setting laws on such intimate things ... is against what we say we believe as a nation.
It is hypocritical and may be blasphemous if you do believe in a higher spirit whose communication method is usually publicly quite ... with messages, if you are lucky enough to receive them ... straight to your soul.
America, one nation under their God, tells the world (and now is forcing it's opinion in select areas) that it stands for justice, equality, ... freedom ... and the right to happiness FOR ALL!
Folks who are intent on interfering with personal, guaranteed by our constitutional, rights to privacy ... really should read those Bibles they want in all our schools, act on those 'Ten Commandments' they want in all public buildings, and not just depend on the interpretation of the latest guru/pastor/politician, or the soundbyte, or flashy flyer ... 30 second flashy commercials with dubious content ... from other folks who have already shown for decades ... their intent ... on having their way or the highway. Their way direct toward being the richest kids on the block, with the most power at whatever cost. Your little personal dream, you own moral interpretations from you God, and your little house; in your little neighbor mean nothing!
Freedom ends ... the concept we have professed as a nation for two centuries ends ... in our higher aspirations, and in all current realities is gone.
